When you try your best but you don’t succeed

Anyone else drowing under the pressure of self doubt? No matter how hard you try, you just fear that you won’t succeed? Whatever you do you don’t feel good enough? I want to tell you that you are enough. You are perfect. You are wonderful. Anyone who says otherwise is lying and is trying to pull you down to their level.

Self doubt, and all types of anxiety will rob you of your hopes and dreams. They will stop you from even trying. You will never succeed if you don’t even try. Whilst you might not be ready to take the big leap and walk the plank so to speak, baby steps are just as important.

Life is too short to be worrying about things, and in my experience, the things that you worry about, don’t happen, but the things that it wouldn’t have even occurred to you to worry about do happen. You can’t pre-empt them so there is no point wasting energy on the “what-ifs”. I know this is easier said than done, and as someone who struggles with anxiety, I wish I could switch it off. As there is no “magic button” sometimes things are a case of mind over matter, however flippant that seems. Try to focus on the positives. Think about the things you have achieved and you have succeeded at. Look for the positives in your life. I know that won’t stop you from feeling low or worried, but sometimes it can distract you just for the few moments you need to refocus your mind.

Whatever happens, even if you tried and you didn’t succeed, you tried, so give yourself a pat on the back. Sometimes even getting out of bed is a challenge and don’t be so hard on yourself!
